About Dr. Leanne Free MD MSCS
Dr. Leanne Free is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and fellowship-trained subspecialist in Complex Family Planning.
Thanks to her academic accomplishments, Dr. Free graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude (an honorary title that means a degree was earned with the highest distinction) with an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Spanish from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
Upon graduating from medical school, she moved to Providence, Rhode Island, where she completed her residency training at Brown University in Obstetrics and Gynecology. During her residency, Dr. Free served as Academic Chief Resident.
Dr. Free finds positive and welcoming learning environments crucial to a student’s education. Her passions were noticed, and she was honored with the Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award for her exceptional abilities to teach and mentor medical students. In the final year of her residency, she was awarded with Brown University’s Julie Baker Splendid Torch Award for her excellence in patient care, combined with her genuine humanity and empathy towards patients’ families, staff, and co-workers.
After residency, Dr. Free completed a two-year fellowship in Complex Family Planning at the University of Colorado and received her master’s degree in Clinical Science.
Dr. Free acknowledges that obstetrics and gynecology are private and intimate topics. That is why she prioritizes creating relationships with her patients. She enjoys talking and listening to her patients. She treats them like she would treat a friend. Dr. Free has a passion for delivering comprehensive health care and treatment to all patients regardless of age, race, ethnicity, culture, language, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
